Anam Cara means Soul Friend. Within this Celtic tradition, a person without an Anam Cara is like a “body without a head.” To thrive, we need intimate connection with one another and connection with the rhythm of our physical place. Such tending is a radical act of inner and outer hospitality. An Anam Cara is a compassionate listener and a devoted witness to another person’s soul growth. I received my training through the Anam Cara Apprenticeship affiliated with the Sacred Art of Living Center in Bend, OR, USA. Here I learned the rituals of Celtic practices honoring life transitions within this tradition of compassionate caring. I’ll be writing more about Anam Cara Legacy activities as we explore fostering intergenerational soul friendship from an eco-spiritual perspective. Stay tuned for updates.
“May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven around the heart of wonder.”
